Home from home baby care in Barrow-in-Furness

Attachment and Positive Relationships
We believe that for babies to settle comfortably, they need a strong relationship and bond with our practitioners. That is why we created our home visit programme. It allows the children to meet with their keyworker in their own environment and spend time getting to know them. During the home visit, your child’s keyworker will fill in an ‘all about me’ booklet which lets us know your child’s routine, current stages of development and current interests.
We feel it is important that we build that positive relationship with the parent as well as the child as you are the one person who knows your child best.
We want you to put the same trust in us that you would put in yourself or in a family member. Following the home visit, we then offer fee free and unlimited settle in sessions.
These allow children to attend the setting for up to two hours at a time to build the bond with their key worker and adapt to their new environment. With the knowledge we have gained from the home visit, we support your children to settle smoothly and stress-free.

Quality Childcare but still home away from home!
Buddy System
Your child’s keyworker is not in today? Not to worry, we have it covered and introduced a buddy system with our younger children.
How Does It Work?
- We will assign your child to a buddy, and it will be that practitioner who will message you via our famly app.
- The role of any practitioner is to update your child’s daily ‘activities’, log nappy changes, nap and meal times and support your child in her/ his learning and development.
- We follow your child’s routine throughout the day ensuring their individual needs are met as we believe every child is unique.
- The key person role is assigned to a designated practitioners for parents to be able to have a personal relationship, to discuss their child’s progress and development and their child’s interest and personalities.
- Even though the bond to the key worker is very important to us, we aim for our little ones to be familiar with all our practitioners. This is in their best interest to develop independence, confidence, and social skills. This shared role is helpful as each practitioner might provide different ideas and your child might become intrigued by this.
